PBES Membership Promo End of September:
🐾Have you Joined the PBES PTA? Join or Renew Today!
So far this year, 135 families have renewed or joined since the beginning of the year. There are about 600 families across the grades at Piney Branch, and we know we can grow this community!
Your support helps the PTA extend scholarships for afterschool programming, maintains our swim offering at the school for the kids, and supports accessible community events like the Back to School Night where our partner Kids Adventures provided activities and childcare while parents could meet with teachers.
Everyone can be a member, and this year we have a “Membership for All” option that invites folks to join at a rate that works for each family.
The PTA is only as strong and bountiful as our community of families in support continues to expand. Curious “why you should become a member? See the details here.
In Search of: Community Volunteers and Advocacy Outreach committees:
The PTA is a grassroots organization that supports the Parents, Teachers, Students and Staff at PBES. Aside from voting and fundraising, we are a community that builds together to ensure our children are able to have a robust elementary school experience.
We need YOU!
Do you have an offering that you would like to share with the PBES community? Are you interested in supporting our next bake sale? Are you really good at interpreting Amharic, or Spanish? Are you interested in Educational Advocacy? Curious about ways to support our local community with Food equity? Would you like to help create or host a cultural event to celebrate with the PBES community?

Volunteering is another way to support the school, and to leverage some of the energy we as parents bring to PBES. It's also a great way to meet other parents from our school & to build a community that supports the school’s mission of “Learning, Embracing, Caring and Thriving”
Roles that we are immediately searching for:
- Fundraising committee volunteers (commitment 1-2 hours at Bake Sales, School events)
- Book Fair Committee volunteers (Commitment to staff the Book fair for the fall/spring, and future opportunities to coordinate next year’s bookfair)
- Language Support and Access committee (Committee to help with making sure all of our families are informed, and able to participate in programming and offerings at the school Interpreters, and referrals welcomed!
- 4th Grade Teacher appreciation Rep (Check if Shana still needs this, I was unsure if Leslie was the person)
- Food Distribution Committee (April said she had a blurb)
- GeoBowl Committee Volunteers
