Open positions for 2025-26:

  • NAACP Representative
  • Hispanic Heritage Night Planning Team (October)
  • Book Fair Planning Team (Fall)
  • Read-a-thon Planning Team (January/February/March)
  • GeoBowl Planning Team (January/February/March)
  • Black History Night Planning Team (February)

 

EXECUTIVE

  • NAACP Representative - Attend monthly meetings or ensure PBES represenentation at monthly meetings, share important information from the Parents' Council with your school community, plan/support outreach events/activities at PBES, be a member of the NAACP 

  • Webmaster - Create and maintain PTA website, update website and social media to be user friendly and effective - work with our Communications VP and President on this important project. 

FUNDRAISING

  • Book Fair [October/November] Help plan the Book Fair as well as set-up or pack-up & sales shifts  - Please watch your email for ways to sign up for a time slot.

  • Read-a-thon [February] - Help plan and coordinate Read-A-thon. Coordinators and volunteers still needed.  We need your help to make this important literacy event and fundraiser happen. 

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Translation Committee/ Liaison [assorted dates] - Translate Spanish, ASL, Amharic, etc. for PBES PTA communications & PTA meetings - Work with our Communications VP and Equity VPs to help make all of our efforts and communication accessible in Spanish or Amharic this year.

  • Room Parent - Work with the Room Parent Coordinator to help get information to and from teachers and families. If you can help please contact Amie Kershner at amielkershner @gmail.com. 

STUDENT ENRICHMENT

  • Multicultural Arts Assemblies [ongoing] - Help plan presentation/performances during the school day
  • Hispanic Heritage Night [October] - Help plan presentation/performances

  • Black History Night [February] - Help plan presentation/performances 
     
  • Cultural Heritage Night [March] - Help plan presentation/performances 

  • GeoBowl [March (prep starts December)] - Help plan event or assist with packet parties, quizzes, & Lunch Bunch; help event run smoothly.

MISC

  • Staff Appreciation - Coordinate and distribute food & gifts.

  • Rainbow Club for Panthers & Dolphins -  For LGBTQ+ kids & LGBTQ+ caregivers at PBES and TPES.  We welcome all interested to join.  More info at this link.
