MCPTA School Safety / Gun Violence Prevention Meeting

THE LATEST RESEARCH ON GUN VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS, HOW IT CAN BE USED TO HELP PREVENT SHOOTING INCIDENTS, 

AND KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFER AT HOME AND AT SCHOOL  

Parents, students, teachers, and the general public can all benefit from attending this free event at the Rockville Executive Office Building Cafeteria on Sunday, September 15th at 2:00 pm.

Speakers include Montgomery County Sheriff Darren Popkin; Rob Wilcox, Deputy Director of Policy and Strategy at Everytown for Gun Safety; Moms Demand Action-MD’s Be SMART Lead; and leaders from student-led gun violence prevention groups.  Student dancers from Urbana Dance Company will be performing their moving dance routine about school shootings, “Enough Is Enough.”

A resource fair with information about Moms Demand Action and our community partners will follow the formal program, and we will be taking action during the meeting before adjourning at 4 pm.   

There will be Spanish translators on hand.  Light refreshments will be served.

Please bring a donation of unused or new school supplies for students served by Montgomery County Linkages to Learning: binders, notebooks, folders, paper, pens, pencils, erasers.
